The Burns Medical Collection is generally recognized
as America's largest and most comprehensive accumulation of early medical and dental photography. The collection Contains
over 40,000 original photographs from the 1840-1920 era. Many of these photographs are unique images: Daguerreotypes, Ambrotypes,
tintypes and personal albums. Several thousand photos 1920-1996 document modern medical practice including images depicting
some of the latest operative procedures. Seven books and hundreds of articles have been produced by the Archive using these
photographs

Using his collection of over 70,000 medical photos Dr. Burns has produced an uncommonly great sales-force tool. A series
of four hard-cover high quality art books that centers on a specific specialty. Each book contains about 45 photos each with
a detailed description of the “medicine” behind the photo. This is a medically related gift that physicians love and hold
on to indefinitely. The first volume is delivered by the companies sales representative with a slip case and then quarterly
they deliver the remaining volumes. He has done 4 of the series in the past in the areas of Respiratory Disease, Oncology,
Dermatology and is currently finishing a Psychiatry edition. The reception by the sales force as well as physicians was overwhelming,
resulting in re-orders for each of the first two programs. Dr. Burns is willing and has previously attended conferences where
he will discuss his collection and do a book signing at the pharmaceutical companies exhibition booth. This has produced
